If you are interested in becoming a certified SCUBA diver, we are able to offer training from Open Water Diver up through Divemaster. Our confined water sessions are conducted in a heated pool and our local open water dives are conducted in freshwater lakes. In the summer, we generally use Cultus Lake as a training site and in the winter we use Lake Billy Chinook. Feel welcome to contact me to discuss your training needs and address any questions you may have.

Basic Open Water Diver Certification Class Options

Regular Scheduled Classes are usually offered once a month through the shop. These classes normally have from 5 to 10 students in them. We spend 4 nights during the week from 5:45 to 10:00 PM with academics and confined water training dives in the pool. The following weekend is used for the four required open water dives with two dives on Saturday and two on Sunday. All study materials, equipment, and pool costs are included. This course emphasizes independent study of the academic portions of the course. Cost: $349 per student.

Semi-Private 3 to 4 student classes are offered to fit the group's schedule. Usually they are presented in a single week also, but I can adapt the schedule to fit the group"s needs. All study materials, equipment, and pool costs are included. This course emphasizes independent study of the academic portions of the course. Cost: $449 per student.

Semi-Private 2 person classes are offered to fit the couple's schedule. This class is usually presented in a single week, but with the smaller number, we often have shorter training sessions. All study materials, equipment, and pool costs are included. This course emphasizes independent study of the academic portions of the course. Cost: $499 per student.

Private One on One courses offer the ultimate flexibility for the student. We can adapt to almost any schedule that we can work out with the pool.; We have taught and completed this course in 4 days! The training sessions are very adaptable to the student's needs. All study materials, equipment, and pool costs are included. This course emphasizes independent study of the academic portions of the course, but we am able to provide much more flexibility and personal attention to the student. This course is a great choice for people with unpredictable schedules or anxiety about diving! Cost: $549 per student.

Confined Water With Open Water Referral Options

This course is for the student who would like to complete all of the academics and confined water dives here at home and then complete the four Open Water Dives at some other destination. If a student chooses this option, one should be sure ahead of time that their destination will seamlessly accept a PADI Referral. Destinations will normally charge for the Open Water Dives.

An open water referral from a regularly scheduled class, the cost will be $349 per student.

If I present a specific referral class with 3 to 8 students the cost will be $299 per student.

A semi-private referral class with 2 students the cost will be $349 per student, but obviously the time adaptability becomes yours. I will do my best to fit your schedule.
A fully private one on one referral course will be $449. Of course this option has the ultimate time flexibility. We are only bound by pool availablity.

Open Water Referral Dives

If you have arrived here from another destination and you need to knock off those last 4 Open Water Dives we can certainly accommodate you! Remember, these dives must be conducted over two days. A Pvt/Semi-pvt Referral is $299 per student for 4 Open Water Dives.

Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver course continues the student's training through five more open water dives. There are two dives which are required (Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation) and three dives which are elective from the scope of the Adventures in Diving Manual. When conducted locally, the elective course choices commonly includes Peak Performance Buoyancy, Altitude Diving, Night Diving, Dry Suit Diving, and Search and Recovery. Advanced Open Water students must provide all of their own equipment. The shop will provide tanks and air. If you are taking the course through the shop, they will rent to AOW students at 1/2 price.

We suggest what we call a "Flex-Private Course" -- You pay a deposit of $125, pick up your manual, talk to me about which dive we can do, complete the Knowledge Review and then we get a couple of people and go diving! You then pay the instructor $30 per dive at the time of the dive. (Some people just pay the instructor up front -- whatever works for you) This is a very flexible option -- you don't have to do the entire course in one weekend. Total cost for the "Flex-Private Course" is $275.

A regular scheduled course requires a minimum of 5 students and takes place in a single weekend. Friday night Night Diving, then Saturday and Sunday we will do two dives a day. Total cost for the Regular Scheduled Course is $249 per diver.
If you have a tight schedule and an agenda, we can do a Fully Private 1:1 course to your schedule for $399

Rescue Diver

The Rescue Diver Course is the course which probably has the greatest impact on dive students. It is in this course that the diver begins to shift his focus as a buddy away from himself to others. This class is often seen as the most transformational class divers ever take. The class will present the opportunity to learn to challenge, conquer, and control dive emergencies.

To take the PADI Rescue Diver Course, the diver must be certified as PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or the equivalent from another certifying agency, be at least 12 years of age, and have a current (within 2 yrs) CPR certification. (Our EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE first aid course would cover this.)

You may look at the Rescue Diver Course Prerequisites to get all of the details of requirements and expectations for the course.

A regularly scheduled Rescue Diver Course requires a minimum of 4 students with preference for 6 to 8. The course will usually take three or four evenings (including pool sessions) and one weekend for the dive scenarios. Total Cost for the Regular Scheduled Rescue Diver Course is $325 per student. Semi Private Rescue Diver Course (2 Students) is priced at $375 per student.

DAN Oxygen For Dive Related Injuries may be included in the Rescue Diver Course. The cost for the additional “value added” training will be $90 to cover additional required DAN materials and Oxygen. This training can then be applied to PADI’s Oxygen First Aid Specialty.
