ALTITUDE DIVER SPECIALTY

The Altitude Diver Specialty course will present you with the opportunity to truly learn how to use and practice using the recreational dive planner at altitude. The course will cover in greater detail the theory and application of the theoretical depth charts as they relate to the Recreational Pive Planner. This course will fulfill one requirement on your way to becoming a Master Scuba Diver.
Needed Materials: PADI Adventures in Diving Manual, Recreational Dive Planner, and Computer with instruction manuals (not required). Log Book.
Equipment Needs: Complete set of reliable dive gear including cold water protective suit (rental available), Two filled 80 cu ft tanks for certification dives. (One tank if you plan to do Crater Lake on Sunday. See Crater Lake fun dive info.)
Materials Provided: Articles on using the recreational dive planner at altitude. Laminated copy of Walt's Handi-Dandi Altitude planner. Informational briefing on Waldo Lake. (Some of the clearest water in the world.) PIC folder.
Time Requirements: One academic meeting on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM at Waldo Lake for actual dive training. 9:00 AM meeting at the north end Shadow Bay parking lot. Directions will be provided upon request or registration. Out of towners, contact Walt. (I suggest you come to Waldo on Friday night and camp!)
Cost: $250 -- Mail deposit of $125 to Central Oregon Diving LLC or drop by and pay them. Also, if all works out, we could have a nifty T shirt to commemorate the event!! You must register before August 13 for T-shirt order. If you are coming from out of town, contact Walt via email.
Dates: Saturday Waldo Dive day 21 August, 2009! (Great place to camp!) If you are from out of town, contact Walt via email about a possible special academic session.
In addition, anyone who wants to remain at altitude and aclimate over Saturday night, is welcome to join us for the "Crater Lake Fun Dive" on Sunday, 22 August, 2009. This is a spectacular scenic event at 8000 feet! Put your knowledge to use!
